Autumn in New York

Autumn in New York…it spells the thrill of first-nighting, glittering crowds and shimmering clouds in canyons of steel: they’re making me feel I’m home…” - Billie Holiday’s rendition of  ”Autumn in New York”

While most of my colleagues and friends are lamenting the days of summer, I am delighted that my favorite season has arrived: fall. There is something so deliciously perfect and romantic about fall that just fills me with peace. I love the crispness in the air—the warm colors and relaxed coolness that make me want listen to John Coltrane’s “In a Sentimental Mood,” pull out my notebook, and write for days.

I especially love Central Park in the fall—my perfect fall Saturday of bliss is a visit to the park with a cinnamon latte and a great book, watching the passersby and the gorgeous colors of the leaves turning, enjoying the feelings of change, of new beginnings, of happiness to come.

I agree with your idea of a perfect fall day.
